In the spring of 2019, shortly after "Know Yourself" was unveiled at the centre of Yambol, I exhibited at the George Papazov Art Gallery — a return that felt like more than a show. My great-great-grandfather was mayor of this city. That history had always been present in me, quietly shaping the questions I ask through my work: what it means to belong to a place, to honour it, and to leave something of yourself within it. This exhibition was an attempt to answer those questions in full.
